Once again thank you to my most recent donors, pulling me over the 25 percent mark. Yay!!
Yesterday I did another 8 miles, this time at the Quincy Y and on a life cycle. I was averaging only about 16 mph, but with the tension up and a steady cadence for a half hour. (You do the Math) I have been coming out of a little personal slump, and the motivation wasn’t great yesterday, but there I was. I walked it off for a mile as well.
I downloaded an audiobook the other day to sort of break up the monotony. Feeling a need to do this seems a little odd at this stage since I have had no trouble sitting on a meditation cushion lately for at least half an hour. Well, “trouble” would not describe the challenges associated with that discipline. Also, and this is a factor, with my meditation practice, I have a sangha, a community. With the bike training, I guess I have one, but it is anonymous and very much out there, somewhere. I keep coming back to the issue that I will have to sit myself on that cycling seat for hours just the bike and me. But eventually, i will get outdoors, with my new tights on order and face the road. I think that will help keep me in the moment. I am trying not to feel guilty about using AV aids with the indoor equipment.
As it turns out, I also downloaded the wrong book “Pillars of the Earth” when I wanted Follet’s newest one. Touchscreen error, I guess. Oh well.
Today after a very full and decent day at school, I did 30 minutes of Stotts Pilates, recommended by my sister-in-law, a fitness instructor. The cats wondered what I was doing on the floor in the afternoon and I got a clear view of the TV cabinet, prompting some dusting, which I am sure was also good for my core.
So, Follet’s cathedral is getting built one brick at a time, and I am reaching my goals, one mile, one Stott core move, and one donor at a time.
Thank all of you for your ongoing support.
